We understand our phonelines are extremely busy and would encourage all patients (if able) to use our new online service, AccuRx Triage which went live on 7th October 2024. For patients with no internet or who are unable to use the link, don’t worry, you can still telephone the surgery where a member of the receptionist team will fill the AccuRx form in for you. By answering a few short questions, someone from the surgery will get back to you or action your request, if not urgent, within 1-2 working days.
**To access this new service, please use this link for urgent and non urgent medical or admin requests.**

Once requests are received, our Triage Team will be reviewing these throughout the day. Please do not worry if you do not hear back immediately. We aim to have reviewed all requests by the end of each day. You will be contacted either by telephone or text message notifying you of the outcome of the clinical triage. This may be an urgent appointment that day, a pre-bookable appointment within the next couple of weeks, guidance on self care or alternative options for treatment ie pharmacy or physio.
There is no need to submit more than one request.
Once submitted, forms will be reviewed during office hours only (Monday – Friday 8.00am-18.00). Forms will NOT be reviewed on the weekends or bank holidays.
Please contact 111 during out of hours or 999 for medical emergencies.
We are hoping that this new online service will help to make The Thorpe Practice more accessible and easier to contact us.
We wanted to put an end to the 8.30am appointment lottery and to make it much easier for you to get the help you need.
That’s why we have made changes and from Monday 7th October 2024, we made getting an appointment easier and fairer. The implementation of AccuRx Total Triage has allowed us to revolutionise appointment management and communication processes.
Our staff can now efficiently co-ordinate schedules, send timely appointments, reminders and communicate seamlessly with patients resulting in a remarkable reduction in patient wait times.
This not only enhances the efficiency of our Practice but also demonstrates our dedication to prioritising the convenience and satisfaction of our valued patients.
What has changed?
We are always looking for ways to improve the experience of our patients.
Previously some of our appointments were given out on a “first-come, first-served” basis to those who can call or attend the practice each morning at 8.30m, or by attending reception in person.
It’s definitely not the best way of doing things.
That is why we have introduced a new booking system, which will get you the help you need more quickly and conveniently. To make this happen we have introduced a new computer system called “AccuRx Total Triage” and put in place a specialist team of health professionals, whose job it is to improve the process of getting an appointment at the practice.
How have things changed for me?
We ask that all appointment/query requests be made by using the below link:

For patients with no internet or are unable to use the link, don’t worry, you can still telephone the surgery, where a member of the receptionist team will fill the AccuRx form in for you.
The biggest benefit is that these changes will mean there is no more “morning rush” to queue on the telephones or in person at the reception desk. No matter what time you contact us, all our appointments will be prioritised by our clinical team based on medical urgency.
Sometimes a GP is not the best person to help you with your medical concern. Our clinical team is made up of various healthcare professionals and the new system will offer you the best and earliest appointment for your individual needs.
If you do not need to be seen urgently, you will be able to easily choose the most convenient appointment from those available, via a link sent to your mobile.
Other changes have included:
What do I need to do?
PLEASE ENSURE WE HAVE YOUR CORRECT MOBILE NUMBER
For many patients this is an extension of what you were already using, but we appreciate this will be a new way of requesting an appointment for others. We are here to support you if you have any problems accessing our new service. If you require any support please do not hesitate to contact us.
