The Practice has registers of patients with these conditions and the Practice Nurse reviews these patients regularly, giving advice on lifestyle, medication etc. For regular checks, patients are asked to use these clinics rather than busy surgery times.
All women between 25yrs and 64yrs are encouraged to have regular cervical smears carried out by the Practice Nurse. The Practice works closely with the Health Authority to identify patients who are due for these tests.
Please make an appointment with the Practice Nurse to have your baby or child’s immunisations.
The Minor Injuries Unit, situated within the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, is open between 08:00hrs and 20:00hrs daily. This unit will assess and treat minor limb injuries such as sprains, minor fractures, cuts and bruises. It cannot see injuries to the head, neck, chest, back or abdomen or see minor illnesses such as sore throats, earache etc.
The Practice Nurses will arrange immunisation for travel abroad together with other immunisations when recommended, such as tetanus, rubella, influenza and pneumonia for the over 65s. Please check that the vaccination you require is available on the NHS, some travel vaccines are not and a fee is therefore chargeable. Prescriptions for malaria prevention are not available on the NHS.
Advice is available on all aspects of family planning.
We are able to provide a limited amount minor operation procedures. These are primarily for inflammation of soft tissues in the form of Steroid Injections. Please ask at reception for more details.
Examinations for insurance, employment, driving and legal purposes are not provided on the NHS. If you require any of these, please ascertain the fee before arranging an appointment.
